Lucas Higdon has changed dramatically since transforming his body on My 600-lb Life. The Texas native was 33 years old when he debuted on the hit TLC show in December 2021. At the time, he was over 619 pounds, and lived with weight-related health issues. Like other My 600-lb Life cast members, Lucas was often uncomfortable, and had trouble moving. His size stopped him from traveling, and made it harder for him to achieve his career goals. Those problems made Lucas feel sad.Eventually, Lucas wanted a change, and decided to revamp his eating habits. The 33-year-old reality star visited Dr. Younan Nowzaradan ('Dr. Now"), and began changing his lifestyle by embracing a low-calorie diet. Within the first few months, the My 600-lb Life star dropped over 80 pounds, and qualified for bariatric surgery. Soon after, he began working out at a gym, and found a computer-related job at a community college. By the end of 12 months, Lucas had lost over 218 pounds, and was motivated to continue his fitness journey.
