Transurrection’ started trending on Twitter on Thursday after the Tennessee Capitol building was stormed by protesters demanding stricter gun control laws. This comes just days after 6 people were killed at the Covenant school in Nashville, Tennessee, including 3 children.The term, which loosely and potentially incorrectly pointed to the protesters being transgender people. It could have also been sparked by GOP Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeting in a presently deleted post that the postest was a “Transgender day of vengeance”. Taylor Greene also compared the protest to the January 6, 2021 insurrection that unfolded in Washington D.C., at the Capitol Building.
