Sister Wives season 16 showed numerous cracks in the Brown family dynamic, including the hiring of Kody and Robyn Brown's nanny. It's easy to question what the family helper actually did for the fourth wife, who didn't have a job. It was somewhat of an odd move for Kody to hire help, and it's unclear what exactly the nanny's role consisted of.
As the worldwide pandemic struck, Kody cut his family off from the world. The wives were encouraged to self-isolate, and not allow their children to socialize. Robyn decided to follow her husband's rules, which resulted in her being able to spend the whole two years with Kody by her side. Kody's three other wives, who have since divorced him, Christine, Janelle, and Meri Brown, were not pleased with the strict rules. They were often punished for not listening to the patriarch. Due to Robyn's ability to follow rules without question, she was eventually rewarded with an at-home helper to raise her children.
