EVERY LOOK FROM DIOR FALL/WINTER

2023Dior’s latest Fall/Winter 2023 collection made its debut at Paris Fashion Week, in a celestial presentation that brilliantly captured the mystique of the night sky. Against a backdrop of hanging installations by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos, the stars seemed to converge in a stunning display of cosmic alignment. While Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s innovative approach to wardrobe staples proved to be a true tour de force, the Italian designer reimagined house classics with her signature panache, delivering a collection that was nothing short of magical.

A celebration of versatility and creativity, the collection was inspired by the extraordinary heroines of French history, Édith Piaf, Juliette Gréco, and Catherine Dior—the sister of the Maison’s founding father Christian Dior. In a departure from the norm, Chiuri eschews bold prints and bright colors in favor of a more understated palette of black and white, which she expertly employs to showcase the beauty and versatility of wardrobe staples. Elsewhere, Chiuri’s signature graphic T-shirts are revisited emblazoned with a quote from Piaf: je ne regrette rien (place in italics), or “I regret nothing.”
