For 29 years now, Larry Kirchner has built up his St. Louis haunted house empire, one intricately carved pumpkin and vampire T-shirt at a time.
The pumpkins and T-shirts are part of his new focus this year at his venues: the Darkness haunted house in Soulard, Creepyworld in Fenton and the Lemp Brewery haunted house in Marine Villa.A new outdoor attraction at Creepyworld, called the Jack-O-Lantern Spooktacular, includes more than 1,000 intricately carved pumpkins in a photo-friendly setting. Kirchner decided to make his own pumpkin attraction after seeing the popularity of jack-o’-lantern festivals nationwide.
