KUTZTOWN, Pa.—A new customer walks into Wooden Bridge Dry Goods, scans the colorful ocean of possibilities and, eyes big as the buttons on a peacoat, exclaims: “It’s a fabric library.”
Owner Anna Mae Martin has grown accustomed to such excitement since opening her fabric and craft shop specializing in, but not limited to, quilting supplies, on the Kutztown dairy farm where her husband, Paul Martin, grew up, and where the couple raised eight sons.“He says he never got too far in life,” Anna Mae quipped, reflecting the atmosphere of her shop as a place for fun.
With two ample classrooms, the store offers workshops in basic quilt piecing, hand applique, machine quilting and foundation paper piecing as well as crafting table runners and wall hangings. Other classes include working with chenille, jacket making, gift projects and sit-n-sew sessions.
